Understanding 9/11
This short road trip film was made as a student project at Williams College and takes the viewer north for the entire length of Route 7, the main north-south United States highway on the western side of Vermont, from Massachusetts to Quebec. Footage was shot every three seconds from a 1971 VW Beetle. The transfer from film to digital was made at standard speed, so the footage is very fast. A film editor could be used to slow the speed down for further study.

Route 7 begins in southwestern Connecticut and the film follows it from its start at Route 95 to its end at the Canadian border. (The exit taken at 36 seconds in is signed Route 7, Norwalk, Danbury.)
